Life Group = Love Group

I started going to Life Group by accident. I just happened to be in the community room the night the first meeting was to take place. I was waiting for a friend so we could watch a movie and do homework. But plans fell through. God had a plan. He wanted me to be at Life Group instead. So in walked three pretty ladies carrying bags of goodies and setting up tables and chairs. And so began my relationship with Megan Comer, Meron Berhane, and Rachel Judy :) They are my Life Group leaders! They are awesome, beautiful, lovely ladies of God. And funny. They are very funny.

I knew right away that being at LG (Life Group) during the semester and year was going to be great! God really works in the group of girls that come to LG, even the girls that are not able to come every week. LG is like a Bible Study - college life - social/ God time. It is an interesting merge of all the great aspects of Regent University.

I have gotten to know so many of my friends at Regent from that first LG meeting. My bestie Sammi was there...I remember thinking, "Dang, that girl is short...and she has a bright pink purse...dannnnnnggg". Which is weird because I am short and carry a bright pink purse...

One of my favorite LG memories is when Megan, Meron, and Rachel had each girl write their favorite thing about every girl in the meeting. So, I now have a paper taped to my wall that has special and enduring memories from each girl in my LG. Annnnnnd we went out to the California Pizza Kitchen and all got all dressed up! Amazing fun!

So if you are a Regent student, find out who your LG leaders are and GO GO GO to an LG meeting. You won't regret it! Blessings!

Clumsy? Who Me?!

So I'm sitting on the couch eating soup and an apple and drinking punch. I have my laptop on my lap. I place the bowl of soup on the wooden arm of the couch, which is perfectly safe as the arm is level, sturdy, and wide enough to fit my bowl. *However*, it is not perfectly safe to violently whack the bowl of soup with your elbow, which of course goes flying. Result of my violent bowl whacking? A semi-wet laptop (only a splash on the plastic...nothing really bad). The entire right side of my bottom was super wet. With soup. With soup and meatballs...uuuggh! It was cold and gross. I didn't know what to do at first. I made sure my laptop was okay, then laughed a little at my clumsiness. Thank God, my Stephen was right there to save the day. He made me calm down because I started freaking out, then grabbed paper towels to dab up soup from...well, everywhere. I waddled into my room to change my clothes because they were soaked with soup. And then proceeded to pout because my pants, body, and floor had been "souped". But all I can do is laugh at the situation. My mom told me, "Girl, you know you were playing with fire having that bowl of soup so close to the edge of the couch...you know you are kinda clumsy". Which I am :) God made me special :) Many blessings!

What Boys Say When They Play Video Games

(Pic from here)

So I had the privilege of sitting on my friends Stephen, Garna, and Jordan while they played video games. Here are just a few quotes from the night:

Stephen: You're shooting me with stars, like literally.
Jordan: That's a bad idea considering I'm wearing a JET PACK!

Stephen: You can't...*gasp*whhhyyyyy...can't I do anything?!?!

Jordan: What did I say about those stupid flying things, Garna?!
Garna: WHAT?!
Jordan: *blows up Garna's character in the game" THAT'S WHAT!!!!

Garna: *in an alien robot voice" I found the mothership....I found the mothership....I found the mothership.

Stephen: Hey Garna, can I kill you two times in a row?

Thus, ends the funniness of the boy's game time. What a buncha boys! :)

I'm Captivated

Recently, I discovered a vintage Lady Gaga (Stefani Germanotta) song that she had written while attending/ performing at NYU. Oh my goodness, this a beautiful song. I want to cry when I listen to it. Here are a few of the lovely lines:

"I love the way you can make me dance from miles away...when I'm with you I'm so sedated, I'm captivated by you"

"You're just like the wind. Everything moves when you're around it. The sun is just like the sound of your voice in the morning when you light my world up"

It is such a heartfelt song about love :) Ahhhh *sigh*

Here's the link to song on youtube.

Living it Up at the Library :)

So I'm sitting here in Regent University's library. I'm clacking away at a loud desktop that I used to look up books I need for a class. I hope I'm not being super annoying to everyone else....anywho, I just realized that I absolutely love being in our library. Its external architecture is amazing. It recalls scenes from a period piece with its old style brick building and old wood furniture. There's just something about being cooped up in the library for hours that appeals to me. It might just be my English major nature coming out. I can sit in a comfy chair for hours in the library on a rainy day with a big cup of English tea and a blueberry muffin and good reading material. Sooooooo lovely :) I love searching for books that I need in order to complete a research project and love that feeling I get when I leave the library with 13 big books. When people pass by, often times words don't even need to be said, yet a quick glance and smile fit the quiet, cozy atmosphere of the book-stacked library. Even when I'm not at the library doing actual schoolwork, it is fun to just explore the many shelves and nooks and crannies of the building. I even discovered how to get the balcony that overlooks the entrance to the library. It's such a wonderful place :) Many blessings!

I want to say thank you and God bless to my family! I had so much fun with you over the holidays!

New classes have started and new friends are being made....SMILE PEOPLE!!! It's 2011!!!!!! Does anyone have any new year's goals, dreams, or resolutions? Please share :) I pray that you are highly blessed this new year!
