Rain Rain...Come Back!

We've been having gloomy dreary weather at school. I usually like it since it means torrential rain and cool thunderstorms. Yesterday, it rained in the morning, but it was more like a mist than a rainstorm. The weather report said it would rain/snow today, but when I got up the roads were wet, but it wasn't raining! Oh come on! I need it to rain...it helps me relax and it is so soothing. Ok, rant over. I like rain. The End :)

My Day :)

Ok, so I just wanted to tell ya'll about my day since it was a particularly an interesting one ;) I went to work. Work was long. I planned to walk to Chick-Fil-A with my boyfriend after I finished at work...I had been craving a spicy chicken sandwich alllll week. But after walking 100 feet outside, we decided it was far too cold to walk a mile each way. I sulked and went back inside. I made myself some tea and sat down to read some blogs. Suddenly, someone knocked on my door. It was Stephen with a bag of Chick-Fil-A!!!! I have an amazing boyfriend ;) I took a nap and woke up in time to go to our hall event, which was to be an awesome video scavenger hunt! When I got there, only Christen and Stormie were there. We attempted to round up a lot more people in order to play the game, but it never worked out. So we decided just to go to dinner and have girl fellowship time. We decided on Chick-Fil-A, but since I had already eaten that for dinner, I got a strawberry banana milkshake. So yummy! We had such a great time talking about God and Regent :) Love you ladies! (On a side note, the Chick-Fil-A cow came out and freaked us out....). Afterwards, we decided that we would have the scavenger hunt tomorrow. It'll be so much fun! Now, I'm sitting on my bed watching Vanity Fair and preparing to proofread my Argumentation paper. Night everyone! :)

My First Journalism Experience

A few months ago, I was asked to attend a question and answer session with filmmaker Malcolm Lee. He is famous for his films such as The Best Man and Roll Bounce. I wrote an article on the event and it was published in Regent U's online newspaper The Daily Runner. I don't think I ever had a chance to share this exciting piece of news with my blogging community, so here it is! :) My article can be found here: The Daily Runner. What do you think? Also, visit the Daily Runner...well, daily...to see if new pieces have been posted. It is neat to see the students take part in such an innovative online newspaper.

It's 3'o clock In The Morning...Why I Am Up?

Well, I am drinking tea for one...and watching D.C. Cupcakes...and an infomercial on the makeup I use (Bare Minerals!!!). Going to sleep now...after I brush my teeth. Good night :)

Back to the Daily Grind

Everytime I say this phrase, I think of coffee. Which I have right now. Chocolate raspberry mocha. Because it's back to school time. And I need caffeine. Oh boy. Here we go. *sip sip* Coffee is like liquid courage. God IS courage. Books. Syllabi. Essays. Coffee. Blogging. What was I talking about again? Hmmmm...ok. Back to school.

In God's Presence

A few days ago at the beach, I closed my eyes while standing at the water's edge, listened to sounds of the roaring waves, and let the spray of the ocean mist across my face. I was completely lost (and found) in God's presence. I thanked Him for all that He has given me and all that HE is to me. I LOVE You, Lord. Absolutely love You :)

God is Preparing Me...

To be a wife and a mommy :) I can feel it! I worked several days straight after having only one day off after going 10 days NON-STOP completing finals schoolwork while simultaneously working my regular job. It was really tiring and I NEEDED a day off. So what do I do on my day off you might ask? Well, I answer you that I did housework. This includes cleaning out my closet (because I had boxes upon boxes stowed away), washing my laundry and bedding, vacuuming the entire apartment, airing out the apartment, cleaning the kitchen, dusting, cutting the stems off of the flowers Sammi gave me and arranging them as decorations in my room, and taking out copious amounts of trash and recycling. PLUS, I checked my finals grade for session A (not too shabby, I might add), looked up which books I'll need for session B, obtained a copy of a book I'll need for session B, got campus PD and Jordan (Thank you boys!) to help jump start Sammi's car because I may or may or may not have left the lights on for longer than I should have, returned books at the library, ordered a yummy lunch (pepperjack grilled cheese, fries, chai tea latter) from the Ordinary, and prepared to apply for a SOAR student leader position. And let me tell you! Today has been so eye-opening because I know this is what being a wife and mommy will feel like...you never stop going, but you still enjoy every moment (and getting so many things accomplished during a short period of time). I praise and thank God for the family of my own that I will have in a few years. Thank you, Lord!

Beach Day

I've been wanting to go to the beach for a while now. Stephen and I went on Valentine's Day, but it was dark and windy and cold...still romantic though :) Yet, I wanted to go on a sunny day where I could lay on the sand and soak up the sun. I saw on weather.com that it was going to be 77 degrees in VA Beach, so I jumped at the chance to go. I got off of work early, called Stephen, and we planned to go. We stopped by Mickey D's and got snacks, then headed on the Interstate. I was using my phone's GPS to guide the way and for some odd reason, it led us on a different route. We drove the streets for a lot longer than I had anticipated. We laughed and laughed as we took detour after detour. We FINALLY found a parking space and didn't have to pay for a meter since it is still winter. I had to go to the bathroom so badly, so we rushed to the nearest store that would let me use their restroom. At Walgreens, Stephen bought me some Easter Peeps, which I prompting downed...delicious! We walked to the water and began to set down our towels when we discovered that it was reeeeeaaaalllly windy. We couldn't even sit down on our towels without the wind whipping sharp pieces of sand at our bodies. So, we attempted to endure the sand for a few minutes. Finally, we got up and packed up our stuff. Stephen and I decided to just walk on the oceanfront for a bit. It was really nice :) We played in the sand and drew our initials in the wet sand. I oooed and aaaaed at the babies and dogs that passed. After a while, we headed back to the car and drove home. The beach trip wasn't exactly what we had planned, but it was still amazing! God does amazing things!
